Road safety education

A good way to work on teaching is to make students see the content as useful and familiar, that is, to work in everyday situations or environments. That is why I thought that a good idea would be to use road signs to work on geometry. And why road signs? Well, there are numerous signs of different shapes, sizes, colours and meanings, so I think that bringing them into the classroom would be a very positive reinforcement. Moreover, these objects are present in the daily life of students and often go unnoticed, so talking about the meaning of these can be a good social and civic competence and help to work and learn from respect.

I attach below an image of different traffic signs that we could use to show you the great diversity that we could work with:

Likewise, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings and signs painted on the ground could also work.

My idea would be to analyse and work with existing signs and finally make a project in which you invent new signs in groups, taking into account colour codes and shapes, calculating as much as possible and explaining their characteristics.
