Visit to the football field
I think that this didactic proposal would be a good option to work on different areas of the subject with transversal contents such as Physical Education, Mathematics and Art Education.
Specifically in the mathematical field we can find: Axial symmetry, magnitudes: area, angular amplitude and length and types of figures.
1. Visit a football pitch and calculate the area and perimeters of the markings on it.
2. After having seen what a football pitch looks like, design different playing fields using different plane figures, draw on them what the halfway line, the areas and the goals would be. If the pitch were shaped like any other polygon, would it be equally symmetrical? Investigate by folding and mark the line that would correspond to the axis of symmetry where possible.
3. Work on identifying the types of lines and polygons in the fields designed from the previous activities.
